	Safety Programs At TCS, our safety mission is to ensure that workers at all levels are properly and continually trained in the safest ways to perform their jobs. From new hires to superintendents, job site safety results in valuable advantages for our company and for our customers. These benefits include lower insurance rates, increased labor productivity, strong employee retention, better quality control and overall higher profitability. We maintain a strong focus on safety in every task we perform, and this has become an important element that distinguishes us from our competition. TCS’ comprehensive safety program is equipped to anticipate hazards, prevent accidents and remains a model for the construction industry today. Training Our Safety Management Program is designed to provide TCS employees with the tools they need to achieve job site safety. Employees are trained and educated in safety-related matters, and compete in safety incentive awards programs. Job-specific safety manuals are maintained on all projects. Accountability We complement our training with rigorous on-the-job safety practices to prevent accidents and ensure a healthy working environment. A progressive disciplinary action program for employees is part of our written safety policy. Communication Employees attend weekly “Toolbox Talks” which are mandatory on all projects. Project safety meetings, which are translated into Spanish, cover site specific and general policy issues. In addition, bi-weekly safety meetings are conducted with field and office management in attendance. This meeting is a forum for training, sharing experiences, and discussing accidents and incidents during the preceding month. Credibility Our full time safety staff conducts audits and inspections at projects on a weekly basis to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Staff members are qualified to provide employees with various types of OSHA recognized training including first aid, CPR AED certification, and 10hr/30hr OSHA training. Top management recognizes the importance of ongoing employee training, and understands the benefits of a comprehensive safety program. Safety Awards TCS is a company that values and practices safety, and we are proud that this commitment is reflected in our safety record. Our NCCI Experience Modification ratings are among some of the best in the nation, and we have been recognized by our customers and by the construction industry with several safety awards including recognition from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and the American Society of Concrete Contractors. In 2008 TCS was recognized by The Virginia Department of Labor and Industry for their Outstanding Commitment to Safety.
